Hey Seahawks, Cristian here...and I've got the biggest news ever.
Hi everyone! My name is Cristian Black and I'm a junior here at UNCW. I'm majoring in Athletic Training and will double minor in Psychology and Biology. I'm originally from Matthews, North Carolina which is a little town right outside of Charlotte! Being four hours away from home can be tough sometimes, but moving to Wilmington has been the best decision I've made so far. This is will be my second go around at being a Link and I couldn't be more thrilled. Along with being a Seahawk Link, I'm also a part of a few other organizations on campus. I'm the Vice President for the Athletic Training Students Association and I am a proud sister of the Zeta Chi chapter of Alpha Xi Delta here at UNCW. I cannot explain enough how much I love being a student here and how quickly I have found my love of place in Wilmington. There will always be an opportunity around the corner for you to have fun, learn a little, and grow a lot.
If you haven't guessed yet, I love Gossip Girl. It's by far my favorite TV series. Along those same lines, I'm a huge Harry Potter fan, judge if you must! :) Movies and reading keep me sane when I get a little too stressed out, along with drives and walks on the beach. I enjoy cooking and baking, going to concerts and being with my friends. The friends I've made at UNCW are the biggest blessing.
I simply can't wait for yall to experience life at The Dub. Here is my two cents before you get down here:
xoxo, Cristian

- Remember to keep an open mind. Be ready to be introduced to countless new ideas and opinions and opportunities. Take as many of those opportunities as you can, don't hold back. Yes, you are here to receive an amazing education, but you're also here to make memories that will last a lifetime. Don't let that slip.
- I would also encourage you to set a goal for yourself before graduation (I know, you haven't even arrived yet and I'm already talking about leaving.) My goal before leaving UNCW is to simply have an impact on another student. I want to know that something I said helped them out in the long run. Also, I want to be first in line for Wagsgiving one year (best. tradition. ever.)
xoxo, Cristian
